A vigorous cold front, bringing with it “strong and squally” winds, is expected to move across the southern half of the state today, the Bureau of Meteorology predicts.
A severe weather warning has been issued by BOM which predicted “damaging” winds will remain in place for residents in parts of the Murraylands, as well as the Adelaide metropolitan area, Mount Lofty Ranges, Lower Eyre Peninsula, Yorke Peninsula, Kangaroo Island, the Upper and Lower South East.
An increase in showers and isolated thunderstorms with possible local heavy falls has been predicted.
Police urge road users to drive to the conditions.
The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
- Move vehicles under cover or away from trees
- Secure or put away loose items around your property
