Murray Bridge medical services should be more clearly signposted, Councillor Clem Schubert says

Visitors to Murray Bridge need clearer signage to direct them to medical services in case of emergency, a councillor says.

Clem Schubert wants two signs installed on Adelaide Road, pointing to the hospital, Bridge Clinic, Murray Bridge Day and Night Surgery and Bridgeview Family Practice, as well as the police station.

"Those signs are important," he said at a council meeting on Tuesday night.

"We live here, but people from out of town, in an emergency, it'd be a lot better for them to know where to go."

But councillors did not vote in favour of installing the signs as part of the coming "refresh" of Bridge Street, as Cr Schubert had suggested.

Cr Andrew Baltensperger said the idea was "fantastic", but not really part of the Bridge Street project.
