The Unity College Trade Skills Centre will open its doors to students in the region on Monday, August 13, when it hosts its Engineering Come and Try Day.
The event will allow students to participate in a full day of activities – from 9am-3pm – with a TAFE lecturer, giving them a firsthand experience of what it’s like to study Certificate II Engineering Pathways.

This certificate provides the opportunity for participants to gain industry accepted skills in workshop machinery, gas metal arc welding, power tool training and interpreting technical drawings.
The event will help students realise the job prospects for engineering in SA; gain an insight into the certificate and the major 2019 class project – building a go-kart; and attempt metal fabrication and manufacturing by building an outdoor brazier to take home.
DETAILS: Limited places are available. Contact Jaylene Phillips at firstname.lastname@example.org or on 8532 0100 before Wednesday, August 8 to register.
