It is alleged that a man at the Bridgeport Hotel left his key briefly unattended, when a 16 year-old girl took the keys and left the hotel.
The man reportedly discovered a short time later that his car was missing and reported the incident to police.
At around 3pm that day friends of the victim spotted the vehicle at the Swanport Hotel and confronted the three occupants and retrieved the keys. The three suspects allegedly fled the scene but were apprehended nearby by police.
A 22-year-old man, a 20-year-old woman and a 16-year-old girl, all from Murray Bridge, were charged with illegal use and theft.
They were bailed to appear in the Murray Bridge Magistrates Court on October 3.
