The Narrung ferry has been forced to close temporarily due to an accident, the Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure (DPTI) has announced.
A truck was attempting to board the ferry last night when it got stuck.
DPTI is now waiting on a crane to travel to Narrung so the truck can be moved.
The department is hoping that will be possible today.
It will update motorists on its Facebook page and Twitter feed when the blockage is cleared.
In the meantime, drivers bound for Narrung or Raukkan will have to travel via Meningie, an extra 40 kilometres or so.
