After missing from home for five months, Noni – the beloved Major Mitchell Cockatoo of Frank and Angela Kemp – was safely returned home on the weekend.

Angela expressed her relief when she heard from a friend that Noni had been found 80 kilometres away in Clarence Gardens.

“We were just so relieved and delighted when we heard the news,” Angela said.

“She knew it was me straight away when I went to pick her up and she screeched in delight when she saw me.”

Angela credited the support of her friends who had helped her throughout the course of the five months by spreading the word of the missing bird and never gave up on Noni.

“I am so incredibly grateful to everyone who has helped us out to bring Noni home,” she said.

Noni has now settled back into life at home in Murray Bridge
