Chooka Parker to play at Murray Bridge Library

Live music will return to Murray Bridge Library this weekend for a second season of Sunday Sessions, starting with a visiting musician with a national profile.

Chooka Parker was a finalist on TV show Australia's Got Talent as a 16-year-old in 2011, having wowed audiences with his improvised piano compositions and down-to-earth rural vibes.

He has since recorded and released three albums and performed at venues including Etihad Stadium and the Sydney Opera House.

From 2-3pm this Sunday he will find himself in the more intimate surrounds of the library's central cafe space.

He will be followed on October 14 by Holly and Mark Bettcher, a couple already well known at Murray Bridge's Christian Family Centre.

Guitarist Jordan Holmes, formerly of the band Escape From Yesterday, will perform solo on November 11.

Alice Springs ex-pat Dan the Man, AKA Dan Ecennaro, will wind up the spring series when he visits on December 9.

All performances will be at 2pm; entry is free.
