Volunteers from Lower Murray Legacy have been out and about in Murray Bridge this week, raising funds for the families of veterans who gave their all in service of the nation.
Traditionally the organisation has looked after the widows of men who never came back from war, and particularly World War II, as is the case by and large for the local branch.
But as modern-day veterans have returned from Afghanistan and Iraq, it has also aided many Legacy wards, affected children.
The local volunteers have had teddies, pens, badges, hats and wrist bands for sale at Murray Bridge Marketplace over the past two days, and will be there again tomorrow, helped by the city's Air Force cadets.
