From November 1, South Australians will have access to free volunteer screening checks.

Volunteer checks are compulsory for people who want to help out with organisations such as sporting clubs, charities and emergency services.

These checks currently cost $59.40 in SA, which is the highest fee in the nation.

The Marshall Liberal government committed  $677,000 in 2018-19 and $1.4 million from 2019-20 to the state budget to abolish volunteer screening fees.
