Long-time Murray Bridge residents Roy and Velma Zerk recently celebrated their diamond anniversary, surrounded by their family including their two daughters, five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
The pair were married on October 25, 1958 at the Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Murray Bridge and lived in Eudunda, Mount Pleasant and Lameroo before settling in Murray Bridge in 1985.
The Zerks said their shared love for sport and strong Christian faith has kept them close over the years.
“It’s so important to have something you enjoy to do together, but also letting the other take time for their own interests,” Mrs Zerk said.
“We love the community here and it is just so wonderful to be a part of it.
“We’ve been lucky to make so many wonderful friends wherever we have travelled.”
