Here's your chance to have your say about the mandatory code of conduct for the dairy industry, announced earlier this year

Dairy farmers, processors and representative organisations are encourage to have their say on shaping Australia’s first mandatory dairy code at a consultation in Hahndorf.

Tony Pasin MP has urged local farmers and stakeholders to take part and help improve contracts between farmers and processors.

“We need farmers and processors in the region to have their say and make sure the code will work for them and our local region,” Mr Pasin said.

“The code will aim to make contracts fairer, more transparent and enforce dispute resolution process.

“We all know how important the dairy industry is to us here in South Australia and this can be the first step to a better industry.

“This isn’t the silver bullet and there’s much more to be done, but it’s a good start.”

Further information about the development of the code can be found at www.haveyoursay.agriculture.gov.au.
