A short foot chase between police patrols and an alleged trespasser has resulted in the arrest of a 38-year-old Murray Bridge man.
The arrest was made after a resident approached police on Amanda Street, Murray Bridge and reported a man had allegedly jumped into their rear yard.
Police allegedly found a backpack, which contained stolen items, in the suspect’s vehicle, and a subsequent search of his home allegedly revealed more property suspected of being stolen.
The man was charged with two counts of serious criminal trespass, two counts of theft, unlawfully on premises and unlawful possession.
The man was refused bail and appeared in the Murray Bridge Magistrates court on Thursday.
