Seeds are now available at The Murray Valley Standard's office for the Murray River Giant Pumpkin Competition.

An annual offshoot of the Cadell Harvest Festival, to be held at Easter time, the competition is offering as its first prize a return trip to the Half Moon Bay Art and Pumpkin Festival held just outside San Francisco, California, including flights and accommodation.

More than $1500 in cash and prizes will also be offered in minor categories.

Pick up your seeds at 110-118 Adelaide Road, Murray Bridge; for more information, visit www.cadell.org.au.

Tailem Bend is also staging a pumpkin-growing competition in aid of the Coorong Suicide Prevention Network, with seeds available for $5 from the Coorong Civic Centre and Tailem Bend Post Office; vegetables will be weighed at an event in April.
