Police arrest a Tailem Bend man, following a pursuit

A 44-year-old Tailem Bend man was arrested following a pursuit which started in Murray Bridge on Sunday night.

Just before 11pm patrols spotted a vehicle of interest, a black Mitsubishi 4WD on Clara Street and attempted to stop it. 

The driver refused and was pursued through a number of roads including the Old Princes Highway. PolAir was activated and took over the pursuit from the air as the driver commenced travelling along unsealed road heading towards Younghusband.

The 4WD was followed along Piggy Flat Road until it stopped on Hunter Road where the driver ran off into scrubland.

PolAir directed patrols to the driver’s location where he was apprehended nearby. 

He was charged with engage in police pursuit, drive disqualified, hinder police and breach of bails.

He has been refused bail and appeared in the Murray Bridge Magistrates court today.
