At a recent Meningie CFS annual dinner, Bevra Squires was honoured with life membership of the Country Fire Service of South Australia.

For more than 20 years, Ms Squires has been an integral part not only of the Meningie brigade, but also the Narrung brigade and Coorong group, having held the Coorong group administration position for nine years and Meningie brigade finance role for 12, along with spending countless hours manning radios and supporting crews out on firegrounds.

Quite often, when the pager drops, Ms Squires is one of the first to the station.
