A man has been arrested after an investigation into a fatal boat crash on the River Murray. Police will allege that just before 10pm on Friday, police received reports of a four-metre aluminium boat upturned on the Murray River about 10 kilometres upstream of Swan Reach. Two men who had received serious injuries were airlifted to the Royal Adelaide Hospital. Initial reports on the night indicated that no other vessel was involved, but new information came to light on Saturday which led police to believe that a crash occurred between two boats. Sadly, one of the two injured men, a 37-year-old from Gawler South, died late on Saturday night. A 40-year-old man from Gawler East remained in hospital in a serious but stable condition. On Sunday, a 39-year-old man from Williamstown was arrested and charged with causing death by dangerous driving, causing harm by dangerous driving and perverting the course of justice. He was refused bail and was due to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Monday.
