whats-on, things-to-do, Coonalpyn, RV Fest, festival, silo, car boot sale, Coorong, cancelled
An RV festival due to be held at Coonalpyn this weekend has been cancelled. The Coorong council made the call on Monday morning due to the hot weather forecast all week - it will be above 40 degrees on Friday and Saturday, according to the Bureau of Meteorology. A majority of the expected attendees had recently cancelled their bookings. Council community and corporate director Nat Traeger said many of those attendees were retirees, and that the event's organisers had not wanted to put anyone's health or safety at risk. All events associated with the RV Fest, including a car boot sale planned for Sunday at the football oval, have also been cancelled.
