Free camping, events planned as Coorong National Park named SA's park of the month for March 2019

Camping will be free at 42 Mile Crossing this long weekend to celebrate the Coorong National Park being named South Australia's park of the month.

Rita Lindsay and the Rritjarukar dancers will also perform at a welcome to country ceremony at the campground at 10am on Saturday.

Further up the Coorong, Birds SA will lead a birdwatching tour at Mark Point at 9am on Saturday.

A Deadly Fun Run will be held at Long Point on March 17, an overnight four-wheel drive tour will start at Salt Creek on March 23-24, and rangers will lead a walk along the Nruggie Ngoppun trail on March 24.

Visitors can even win a day-long kayaking tour by checking into a web page from their smartphone during a visit.
