A donation of $12,000 from the Woods Point Community Centre has enabled the refurbishment of a ward at the Murray Bridge Soldiers Memorial Hospital which provides some home comforts for palliative patients and their families, or sick children and their parents.
The room has been transformed from a basic ward to a more inviting environment featuring a kitchenette and additional closet space, which provides independence and privacy for the patients and families.
The donation was made possible through the sale of a parcel of land in the Woods Point township.
The refurbishment was carried out by local firm Ahrns Carpentry and Cabinets.
The balance of the donation will be used to improve the bathroom facilities of the ward and provide some artwork to enhance the atmosphere of the room.
