Hundreds of motorcyclists will ride through Murray Bridge and Mannum to start conversations about depression and mental health this Sunday.

The Black Dog Ride will take a winding route from Morphett Vale to Meadows, Murray Bridge and, around 12pm, Mannum before heading to Strathalbyn.

One in five Australians experience a mental health condition each year, and three million live with depression or anxiety.

But breaking the silence around mental health encouraged friends, family members and colleagues to seek help, the event's organisers said, and showed that people living with mental illness could live meaningful and fulfilling lives.
