Two teenagers from Adelaide's southern suburbs have been charged over an alleged drag race on the Princes Highway at Tailem Bend.

A police patrol spotted the alleged racers at 9.30pm on Saturday and gave chase.

Only one of the vehicles pulled over; its driver, an 18-year-old Woodcroft man, was reported for engaging in street racing.

Officers later found the second vehicle at an address at Seaford Meadows, arrested a 19-year-old man and charged him with street racing and evading police.

Both men will face court, and both had their vehicles - a red Ford Falcon and a green Holden sedan - impounded.
