Joy selected in Knockout

Murray Bridge woman Mrs Joy Cresp has been selected in a regional team in the new series of the TV show It's a Knockout.

Mrs Cresp goes to Sydney this weekend for the filming of the 67th episode, but said it would be several months before the episode was telecast.

Mrs Winifred Hill wins Telecom merit award

Murray Bridge woman Mrs Winifred Hill, 67, is the recipient of this month's Telecom Advance Australia Award of Merit.

Mrs Hill has umpired and coached netball in Murray Bridge for about 15 years, and is in her 25th year as treasurer of the Rambler Football Club women's auxiliary.

Bridge Street plan displayed until May 30

Three alternative treatments are being considered for Bridge Street: widened footpath, widened central median and meandering central carriageway.

Three off-street parking areas are proposed in the parklands south of South Terrace, in the closed section of Sixth Street between South and Mary Terraces and on the eastern side of Railway Terrace adjacent the railway station.
