Rainfall doubles 2019 total in a day at Murray Bridge, lesser falls elsewhere

More rain has fallen on Murray Bridge in the past day than the rest of the year combined.

The city bathed in 22 millimetres over the 24 hours to 9am, according the the Bureau of Meteorology.

Just 19.4mm had been recorded between January 1 and May 9.

In fact, the last day with as much rainfall was September 11 of last year.

Nearby Pallamana picked up 22.8mm.

Meningie also got a decent soaking, with 20mm; 15.6mm was recorded at Strathalbyn; and Karoonda had 16mm.

Parts of the Mallee were not quite as fortunate, though the rainfall was still significant by this year's meagre standards: Lameroo got 5.8mm.
