Irvines finish top of championship round

On Saturday, the Murray Bridge Rifle Club contested the 30th stage of the Club Championship over 400 metres at Monarto.

It was a fine, cool day with little breeze with the shooting very accurate and scores high.

Top off-rifle and winner in A grade was Jasamine Irvine with a superb 95.8, just ahead of the B grade winner, husband Daniel Irvine, with 95.7.

Clubmates told Daniel he had kept things sweet by letting Jasamine win but he at least took home some of the winnings with a victory in the Handicap award.

Winner in F Class Standard was David Hindmarsh with 113.8.

Nicole Edwards finished in front of others for a win in F/TR with 111.5.

Adrian Conlon kept up the winning formula for another week and was top off-rifle and the winner in F Class Open with an almost perfect 119.11, including the only possible for the afternoon - 60.5 in his second round. The score also gave Conlon the Handicap win.

The sighters' awards were won by Jasamine Irvine in full-bore with 20.3, Hindmarsh in F Class Standard with 22.2, Edwards in F/TR with 23.0 and Conlon in F Class Open with 21.1.

Andrew Heard in full bore and Ian Elston in F Class took out the magpie awards.
