The Australian Tax Office will run three free workshops aimed at helping small business owners in Murray Bridge on Thursday.

The first, from 10am to 12pm, will focus on tax essentials: business structures, registration, reporting obligations and expenses claims.

A session from 1-2.30pm will look at the tax and super obligations of anyone employing staff, and tools and resources available to help.

From 3-4.30pm businesses with 19 or fewer employees can learn about the new single touch payroll system which will come into operation on July 1.

All sessions will be held at Regional Development Australia Murraylands and Riverland, 137 Adelaide Road.

Note: The events have since been removed from the ATO's website.
