Karoonda Districts Football Club has been granted $258,000 towards its plans for a new unisex changeroom and community gym.
Recreation, Sport and Racing Minister Corey Wingard announced the grant last week, and delivered a ceremonial cheque in person when he took in the Magpies' match against Murrayville with local MP Adrian Pederick on Saturday.
The Karoonda East Murray council had already agreed to contribute $270,000 to the project, while the club and other community organisations will put in $10,000.
The facility will also include new rooms for officials.
Mr Wingard said the state government was proud to upgrade facilities that would increase participation in grassroots sport.
"South Australians should have access to the sporting facilities they deserve," he said.
The state government, in partnership with South Australia's peak cricket and football bodies, will provide a total of $6 million to 20 sporting clubs across the state.
