Pedestrian killed after Adelaide Road, Murray Bridge accident

A 37-year-old man from Murray Bridge has died after being hit by a car in the early hours of this morning.

A Toyota sedan struck the man on Adelaide Road, near Keith Street, just after 3.30am.

Paramedics treated him at the scene but he died shortly afterwards.

Police are speaking with the driver of the vehicle.

Adelaide Road remained closed just before 10am, and traffic was being diverted around the area while police investigators continued to inspect the crash site.

The man's death was the 62nd on South Australia's roads this year.

By comparison, 38 deaths had been recorded by the same date last year.

SA Police report that just before 3.30am today, Wednesday, July 10, a person was hit by a vehicle near the Keith Street intersection.

Emergency services crews and police attended the scene.

All traffic on Adelaide Road has been diverted so motorists can expect delays during the morning as major crash investigators attend the scene.
