Closet musicians around the Murraylands are being invited to join in a spectacular concert to be held in Murray Bridge at the end of this month.
About 150 musicians from the Murray Bridge Community Concert Band and eight schools around the region will perform in four ensembles at Murray Bridge Town Hall on July 31.
They will be led by jazz violinist Julian Ferraretto and vocalist Lauren Henderson, both artists with extensive international performance experience who are now on the staff of Adelaide's Elder Conservatorium of Music.
The concert will be the culmination of four days of workshops to which members of the public interested in joining the one of the ensembles are invited.
Two concert bands will be open to musicians with 2-4 or more than four years' experience; a vocal ensemble will cater to vocalists aged 13 and older with experience singing in choirs; and a composition group will be filled by advanced performers through an expression of interest process.
The composition group will first meet next Tuesday, while the other groups will get together on the Monday prior to the concert.
Performances will take place at 12.30pm and 6.30pm on July 31.
The combined ensemble last came together for a show with John Morrison and Jacki Cooper in 2017.
