Two people have been taken to hospital in a serious condition after a car accident at the corner of Maurice Road and Standen Street, Murray Bridge.
Two cars collided at the T-junction just after midday and wound up in the front yard of an adjoining house.
SA Police told The Standard the male driver of one of the cars had suffered a medical episode immediately before the crash.
They said the female driver of the other car had suffered head injuries in the collision.
Police closed Maurice Road to traffic heading north, towards Adelaide Road, while SA Ambulance and State Emergency Service officers treated the man, who remained in the wreckage for more than 40 minutes.
Both the man and woman, who were aged over 50 according to the SA Ambulance Service, were taken to the Murray Bridge hospital.
Paramedics had originally planned to take the woman by helicopter to the Royal Adelaide Hospital, but were able to take her by road instead.
