Lake Albert Golf Club hosts SA Bronze Plate

THE Lake Albert Golf Club hosted Golf Australia, SA Golf Country Week Bronze Plate for golfers with handicaps from 28.1 to 45 recently. Sixty-six competitors from many city and country clubs from as far as Coffin Bay and Terowie competed.

Local junior golfers, Coen and Thomas Pearson conducted the 'Welcome to Country' to welcome the players.

Sally Schaefer from the Lake Albert Golf Club won the Bronze Plate (a best stableford aggregate score over two days). Tailem Bend golfer Janet Rycroft was runner-up. Sally has said that she will be keeping the clubs that she borrowed from her mother while she is away as they suited her well.

Wednesday night was the presentation dinner. The foursomes competition was conducted the next day which allowed the travelers to depart in the early afternoon after a delicious lunch.


Bronze Plate Winner: S Schaefer, Lake Albert; runner-up: J Rycroft, Tailem Bend.

Tuesday winner: S Economou, Mt Osmond; runner-up: J Rycroft, Tailem Bend.

Wednesday winner: L Dumbleton, Mt Osmond; runner-up: C Gurling, Royal Adelaide.

Thursday Foursomes Winner: G Riggs and C Holden, Mt Osmond.

Thursday runners-up: J Howe and A McLenna, Beachport.

Other winners came from Kingston, Warooka, Willunga and Flagstaff Hill.
