A cheerful group of local and out of town art lovers has braved wintery conditions to attend the opening of Bridge Arts' SALA exhibition on the evening of August 9 at Murray Bridge Marketplace.
Anita and Ken Millsteed soon made everyone welcome with food and beverages provided by members.
President Kerry Wilson welcomed the crowd attending and gave an overview of SALA, being works by South Australian living artists, and the exhibition, entitled "Bridge 2 Art".
Exhibition coordinator Di Dawson then welcomed Councillor Karen Eckermann, who carried out the official opening of the exhibition.
Cr Eckermann is herself a patron of the arts and keen art collector, and could not resist placing a red dot on an artwork during the evening.
Ms Dawson then presented Cr Eckermann with a bunch of native flowers arranged by Ms Wilson.
Artists exhibiting are Det Baumer, Anthony White, Sue Foster, Kerry Wilson, Anita Millsteed, Jane Mason, Jean Mobbs, Pauline Hunter, Janet Munt, Mary Rawlings, Jillian Solley, Valerie Sparrow, Audrey Van Den Heuvel, Helen Oats, Louise Bauer, Sue Piggott, Jan Thomas, Helen Carroll and Cecilia Kluge, who have presented an eclectic mix of artworks including mixed medium paintings and drawings, collages, textiles, mosaics and jewellery.
All works on display are for sale, and may be collected once purchased.
The exhibition will continue until August 26 and is open daily, from 10am-3pm weekdays, 9am-3pm Saturdays and 11am-3pm Sundays in shop T26 at the Marketplace.
