Community groups interested in winning grant funding through the Murray Bridge council are invited to find out more on Wednesday.

An information session will be held over a light lunch at Murray Bridge Town Hall from 12pm.

The council will offer $40,500 to community organisations and events in its September funding round.

Grants to a maximum of $3100 will be paid out to incorporated bodies who can match them dollar for dollar, or through in-kind support.

Mayor Brenton Lewis said the grant program supported initiatives which helped the community thrive.

"It's a great way to tap into what's important to our community, and work together to create outcomes that are meaningful for the people who live here," he said.

"There have been some fantastic initiatives to come out of the program.

"I really encourage everyone with a great idea that will make our community better to make an application and give it a go."

Applications are due by September 6.

The council also makes sport and recreation facilities funding of $60,000 available each year, as well as environmental grants of up to $20,000 and Small Wins or Quick Wins grants of up to $100,000 for projects which do not fall within a community grant round.

It also has $50,000 worth of funding for events which bring people to Sturt Reserve and the city's wharf.
