Murray Bridge United guns for division two championship after win over Elizabeth Grove

The Murray Bridge United A grade team has continued its stellar season with a big win over Elizabeth Grove on Saturday.

A win next week will see the Murray Bridge United A grade side crowned division two champions.

United travel down to Thebarton to MA Hawks on Saturday knowing that a win will secure an historic first trophy for the club.

A grade

Murray Bridge United played beautiful attacking football to score five unanswered goals in first half against a disappointed Elizabeth Grove.

The Peckers were more competitive in the second half despite Murray Bridge United having more chances.

Murray Bridge United got into an attacking rhythm from the first whistle, Lloyd Oppelaar's superb cross found Dylan August who finished into the top of the net.

A Pecker handball in the penalty area sent August to the spot for his second goal inside 13 minutes.

Four minutes later Dan Ames headed in from a corner to make it a dream start for the home team.

Oppelaar struck a precise shot from just outside a congested penalty area into the side net, before a Marc Goldstone goal ended the most productive half of the season for Murray Bridge.

C grade

Murray Bridge United were able to field a strong side against the second placed Blackfriars Old Scholars Association Soccer Club team in the Division 6 clash.

A goal in each half were enough for BOSA to seal the win in a high quality game.

Next game

The final game of the season is on Saturday at Kings Reserve, Thebarton against the MA Hawks.

Murray Bridge United would like as much support as possible to cheer on A Grade in their quest to be champions.
