Sgorra Bhreac open garden to benefit youth choir

An open garden at Strathalbyn this Saturday will benefit a youth choir which hopes to perform in the United Kingdom next year.

Cynthia and Graeme Nicholson's property Sgorra Bhreac, Gaelic for "hill in the mist", will be open between 10am and 4.30pm at 2/88 Marchant Road.

A $5 admission fee will go to Young Adelaide Voices, whose first concert choir has been invited by composer Paul Rissman to debut a new work of his with the London Philharmonic Orchestra in London next May.

A border of acacias keeps the wind out of the garden, which features colour and perfume throughout a wide range of focus trees, dwarf fruit trees, a pond, a cactus and succulent section and a flower garden.

The Nicholsons will also host Naracoorte Garden Club and a rural women's gathering over the weekend.
