Paddle SA Canoe Polo will host its second event at Tintinara on November 16 and second, following the success last year's event at the Lake Indawarra location.
The event, supported by Paddle SA, Coorong District Council, Tintinara Action Club and Tintinara Regional Areas Development Enterprises - will encompass a day of canoe polo games on the Saturday for social grade competitors traveling from Adelaide and Melbourne.
It will also include a come and try canoeing group session for Coorong and Tatiara District residents on 16 November, followed by 1-1 coaching on the Sunday.
Event organiser Louise Densley of Keith said this is a great opportunity to bring on water recreation to Tintinara after work by the community to restore the man-made lake.
"Last year we held a weekend of social canoeing which involved 26 paddlers coming from Adelaide and Melbourne to play a social canoe polo tournament and local residents participated in a come and try canoeing session," Ms Densley said.
"We were really impressed with the facilities available at Lake Indawarra that the event is being repeated to allow city based canoeing enthusiasts with a country getaway."
"Previous experience isn't required and the instructors will help participants with boat balance, paddling technique, equipment advice, general safety - all the things that might make their next river of sea venture over summer that much more pleasurable."
The come and try canoeing group session will be offered on Saturday 16 November from 10am-12pm for all ages.
A second one-on-one session will be held on Sunday, November 17 from 10am-2pm where you can drop in when suits and stay for as short or as long as you like.
Cost is $10 to cover insurance, entitling attendance at both sessions.
All equipment is provided and instructors are providing their time free of charge.
