Towns urged to dress up ahead of 2020 Tour Down Under

Could your town be the best dressed along the 2020 Tour Down Under route?

Race organisers are calling for nominations from residents, schools and businesses interested in dressing up their premises before the world's best cyclists come past later this month.

Nominations in four categories are due by 5pm on Monday.

Murray Bridge Mayor Brenton Lewis urged everyone to roll out their welcome mats.

"Knowing the creative, resourceful and sport-loving community we have right here in Murray Bridge, I'm sure when the race arrives spectators and cyclists will not be disappointed," he said.

"It will be great fun taking on the best dressed town challenge and seeing what our community comes up with."

Murray Bridge will host the start of a women's stage on January 17 and end of a men's stage, and the Challenge Tour, on January 24.
