The last ore from Hillgrove Resources' copper mine at Kanmantoo has been processed, marking the end of eight years of mining activity at the site - at least for now.
The company reached the milestone on March 27.
The processing plant next to the giant pit at Kanmantoo - where mining had finished on April 30 of last year - will now lie dormant until it is needed again.
Hillgrove will now focus on exploration and development of mineral deposits at sites around the Murraylands, including underground at Kanmantoo.
It pulled the plug on a plan for a pumped hydro energy storage facility at the mine site seven weeks ago.
