Murray Bridge supermarket extends online service to Lameroo

Coles Murray Bridge has expanded its Coles Online service to Lameroo and Ngarkat residents, offering customers the option to collect a bulk order from their closest Coles store, or have their groceries delivered by courier.

The new service has been tailored to remote communities, towns and islands located more than 100 kilometres from their closest Coles supermarket, and allows customers to receive perishable items like milk and bread frozen in boxes that are easy to transport over long distances.

The service has been introduced at seven regional supermarkets across the state, including Murray Bridge, Port Lincoln, Port Pirie, Mt Gambier and Port Augusta, and is in response to an increasing demand from remote customers and community groups travelling long distances to stores.

Coles Murray Bridge Store Manager Matt Thomas said many customers from neighboring communities stand to benefit from the new Click&Collect offering.

"We're so happy to expand our Coles Online offering here at Murray Bridge to give more rural and remote shoppers the opportunity to shop our great range of products more conveniently," he said.

"As part of the new initiative, any customer who lives over 100 kilometres away from our store can have their shopping handpicked by our team, so when they arrive they can simply collect their items and head off on their way.

"By extending this service, we hope all of our regional customers know that we are listening to their feedback and are always looking for ways to better their shopping experience with Coles."

Coles offers two types of Remote Delivery service: 'store collection' and 'delivery by a third party'.

Coles Online general manager Karen Donaldson said the new offering would allow Coles to serve more South Australian customers than ever before.

"Providing this service to regional communities across Australia makes so much sense.

Australia is incredibly diverse - some people live on remote stations or farms and others in very small communities that don't have access to a supermarket," Ms Donaldson said.

"To ensure our customers have access to everything they need, we often pre-box orders and freeze milk, meat and other dairy products to maintain product quality for those customers who have a long journey ahead."
