Thieves, vandals target Murray Bridge properties

Police are investigating some incidents which happened across Murray Bridge over the past couple of days.

About $10,000 worth of car parts have allegedly been stolen from a locked shed on Bigmore Road, Northern Heights, sometime between Tuesday, June 23 and Tuesday, July 7.

Police are investigating the break-in and ask anyone with information on the stolen car parts, which includes a Torana engine block, (pictured) to contact them.

Vandals have ripped up plants and pulled up irrigation at Bridgeport Hill, on East Terrace, Murray Bridge, between 5pm on July 3 and 8.30am on July 6.

The property belongs to the Rural City of Murray Bridge, and will cost about $2000 to repair.

At about 8.45pm on Wednesday, July 8, police arrested and charged a woman with being unlawfully on premises, theft and resist arrest in Murray Bridge after a member of the public alerted the police.

Police allege the 40-year-old local woman stole a heater from the back yard of a property on Best Street.

After obtaining a description of the person, police located the woman and the heater only a short distance from the scene.

She was bailed to appear in the Murray Bridge Magistrates Court on August 3.
