A new dishwasher has made all the difference for the Salvation Army Murray Bridge branch, courtesy of the Lions Club of Murray Bridge.

Recently the Lions club helped to purchase and install a new dishwasher for the Salvos with the help of an Australian Lions Foundation grant of $550.

With the funding the club bought an industrial dishwasher with two members transporting it from Adelaide to the Salvation Army kitchen.

The club organised and paid for a local electrician to put three 15-amp power points in suitable places around the kitchen for the dishwasher and a large bain-marie.

The works improved the safety of the kitchen by avoiding the use of extension power cords.

The donation from the Lions club has been part of a project by local service clubs to assist the Salvation Army by paying for, serving and cleaning up after a Thursday evening meal provided to local community members who are at risk.
