Murray Bridge Library will host best-selling fiction writer Monica McInerney this Friday for a talk as part of her SA tour promoting her new novel The Godmothers.

Released on September 29, the book follows Eliza Miller and her story about "love, lies, hope and sorrow, about the families we are born into and the families we make for ourselves," according to Penguin Books Australia.

It is set in Australia, Scotland, Ireland and England.

The book follows Monica's release of multiple best-selling titles, including A Taste for It, Upside Down Inside Out, Spin the Bottle, The Alphabet Sisters, Family Baggage, Those Faraday Girls, At Home with the Templetons, Lola's Secret, The House of Memories, and The Trip of a Lifetime, and a short story collection, All Together Now.

In 2008 Those Faraday Girls won General Fiction Book of the Year at the Australian Book Industry Awards.

Monica's talk is at the Murray Bridge Library at 2pm on Friday, October 9.
