A Murray Bridge man will face court after checks by police following a crash revealed traffickable amounts of drugs in his car.

Police were called to the South Eastern Freeway at St Ives at 10.45pm on Friday, October 23, having received reports of a crash where a car had left the road and hit a guard rail.

The 36-year-old Murray Bridge man driving the Toyota Camry was not injured.

Checks completed by police found the man had been driving while disqualified.

Further checks located a traffickable amount of methamphetamine and four bags of cannabis in his possession and in his car, and was subsequently arrested.

Police later searched his house and uncovered more cannabis, drug paraphernalia and cash.

The man was charged with trafficking in a controlled drug and driving while disqualified but was bailed, and he will face Murray Bridge Magistrates Court on December 2.
