Murray Bridge and Districts Table Tennis Association's newest life member is Turtles' Bob Hancock

Bob Hancock is the Murray Bridge and Districts Table Tennis Association's newest life member.

Bob was presented life membership at the association's 2020 awards dinner by committee members Shane Denman and Laurette Norton.

Fellow life member Chris Hollitt made a special appearance to conduct a This Is Your Life-style interview with Bob so other members could hear his table tennis history, leading to his well-deserved award.

Bob's fellow Turtles team mates Heather Richards and David Konitzka stepped up to shower him with support, by sharing some recent history of his activities and saying how proud they were to have him as a valued team mate.

Bob was still in shock and disbelief when he responded to the announcement and presentation.

He has spent many years on the committee and is the current treasurer.

He has played for decades in a team capacity, and has supported tournaments, events, and meetings, with other efforts too numerous to mention.

He even helps out with the weekly running of the canteen, which is appreciated by the players.

Bob's determination, his competitive but fair spirit, and his can-do attitude has endeared him to the local players and beyond to other associations and state level.

He also still plays a mean game of table tennis.
