A number of Murray Mallee organisations will receive funding for a variety of projects through the Murraylands and Riverland Landscape Board Grassroots Grants program.
Trees for Life, Mid Murray Landcare SA and Rotary Club of Mobilong are just some of the entities which will use the funding allocated by the State Government in July.
MRLB chair Dianne Davidson said the grants were an important way for the board to support local communities and help them to improve the management of the region's landscape and natural assets.
Some of the successful Murraylands programs include the Murray Mallee Regenerative Farmers Group project to promote and explain the 'grazing naturally' method to Murray Mallee farmers through a series of workshops as well as the Mid Murray Landcare project which supports volunteers at the Cambrai Community Nursery and at Meldanda.
Minister for Environment and Water David Speirs said it was important part for landscapes to thrive - leading to healthy and resilient communities, prosperous businesses and flourishing ecosystems.
"It's all about a back-to-basics approach and giving local communities a greater say in how we manage our natural environment," Mr Speirs said.
"The Grassroots Grants program is an important element of the Landscape SA reform agenda, and will result in $2 million in funding being provided across the state, ensuring there are more funding opportunities for communities dedicated to working in our landscape regions."
