A motion submitted by Councillor Peter Smith requested the council place public question time back onto council agendas as long as the questions were submitted prior to the meeting.

Councillor Jeff Hall said he did not find the addition of public question time effective.

"I don't think a lot came out of question time," Cr Hall said.

"People have the opportunity now to write in, sit in the gallery and listen to the proceedings.

"The question time to me period, wasn't policy driven."

Cr Dennis McCarthy was in agreement with Cr Hall.

"I don't see why we want to change something that is working really well," Cr McCarthy said.

"I can't see why we would change it all."

Cr Smith who brought forward the request replied with one statement.

"It's about transparency," he said.

The motion, which was moved by Cr Smith and seconded by Cr McGregor was carried.
