A former Bathurst 1000 winner has timed a new lap record at The Bend in Tailem Bend.
Behind the wheel of the lightning quick Porsche Taycan Turbo S, once king of the mountain and Porsche track experience chief driving instructor, Luke Youlden put the pedal to the metal and clocked in at 3:30.344 on the 7.7 kilometer GT circuit layout.
Then jumping over to the new 911 Turbo around the 35 corner circuit on the same day, Youlden also set a time of 3:22.066.
That set a new production car lap record for the GT Circuit.
Extra weight from the electric Taycan was attributed to the difference in lap times.
The all-electric Taycan was released in Australia earlier this year with a starting price tag of $190,000.
