The woman then allegedly continued to shop after staff had requested that she wear a mask.

Police arrived a short time later and spoke to the woman at length, explaining the current Directions and the requirement to wear a mask in shared indoor public places.

Police will allege the woman then refused to provide her details and following several warnings, she was arrested for failing to state her name and address.

She was charged with failing to comply with a direction and refusing to state her name and address. The woman was bailed to appear in the Mount Barker Magistrates Court on August 25.

Police have reminded the community that under the current Direction, masks are mandatory in shared indoor public places which includes supermarkets.
